Bhubaneswar, Mar 27: Following a fight between two priest groups, the daily rituals at the Lingaraj temple came to a halt on Saturday. A conflict between Brahman Niyog and Badu Niyog, over the issue of Maha Baruni Snana rituals stalled the daily rituals.
Notably, the Brahmans alleged that, the time of rituals was not informed to them in advance by the administration. Notably, the Brahman Niyog servitors were actually supposed to bring the Lord to the Palanquin, which they did not, but the rituals were conducted smoothly till 4 pm on Saturday. These continuous disturbances have created a lot of problems for the devotees, said sources.
However, the temple admin are taking steps to solve the issue.
