Mahanadi row: Uma Bharti assures to protect Odisha’s interest

Bhubaneswar, Aug 25: By assuring no injustice on the Mahanadi dispute, Uma Bharti, Union Water Resources Minister stated, to discuss and resolve the matter, CMs of Odisha and Chhattisgarh would be asked to come to Delhi between September 10 and 20 as per their suitability. She also informed that she would write a letter to the Odisha CM asking him to come as per his suitability between those dates and will also ask the Chhattisgarh CM to come on the same date to discuss on the matter.

On the other hand, Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Petroleum minister said that to protect the interest of Odisha’s people, Uma Bharti had been informed for her intervention in this matter.

Responding to Uma’s assurance, BJD spokesperson Pratap Deb said that the Union minister should live upto the assurance of protecting Odisha’s interest. As Naveen Patnaik has been elected as the Chief Minister for the fourth time, he must know what should be done and knows about the interest of Odisha’s people.
