Mahanadi water issue: Senior Congress leader, Srikant Jena letter to PM for Tribunal formation

Bhubaneswar, Apr 11: Today senior Congress leader, Srikant Jena wrote to PM Narendra Modi about his demand of a tribunal to resolve the Mahanadi water dispute. He sincerely urged him to ask Chhattisgarh government to stop  construction of barrage on Mahanadi river. Mahanadi cannot be dried up as Odisha would be severely affected. Jena also wrote about the coal cess issue stating that the government of India are using the coal cess of Rs 8,000 crore earned from Odisha in developed states like Gujarat and Maharashtra. Lastly he has mentioned about the alleged involvement of BJP and RSS workers in Bhadrak violence and has hence asked him to direct peace and order in the district asap.
