Bargarh, Apr 26: In a major fire mishap, about 38 houses belonging to 18 families at Beherapalli village in Bargarh district were toasted down to ashes after a live electric wire fell on the haystack, following to a short circuit.
After being informed, the fire men reached the spot and doused off the fire, but by then everything had turned ash.
Notably, the locals alleged that the fire that broke out was due to a live electric wire, which fell on the haystack, leading to the haystack catching fire and then spreading to the other areas in the village. Though no casualties have been recorded by yet, but properties worth lakhs have been reported to be destroyed in the fire.
