Make-in-Odisha Conclave: Arun Jaitley to visit the summit today in state capital

Bhubaneswar, Dec 1: Today Union Finance Minister, Arun Jaitley and SBI chief, Arundhati Bhattacharya will be visiting the Make-in-Odisha conclave event. Yesterday the Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik put hopes on the three-day ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave, which also began yesterday evening, to attract big investments into the State and generate jobs. Chief Secretary AP Padhi stated that as per the plans on Dec 1 and 2 the State government will have one-to-one discussion with industries and expected companies, who have shown interest in investing in different sectors of Odisha, will talk about the same in details so that the necessary action can be taken on the proposals on the part of the state. He added the chief minister also inaugurated an exhibition and theme pavilion at the ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave. Taiwan Ambassador to India Chung-Kwang Tien, who was also present at the function, expressed his happiness to be present at the event and also said that it was an honourable moment to have been invited by the chief minister to participate at the ‘Make in Odisha’ conclave. On asking about the prospects of business opportunities, Tien stated that as both the countries is perfect in their own perspectives, hence both the countries can work together in the sector and reap benefits. Also, Surbroto Bagchi, head of the Odisha Skill Development Authority stated that this is just the beginning and so this process needs to be carried forward long way. The World has to be brought to Odisha to create employments for Odia boys and girls and this cannot be done with one-off thing. It must be remembered that Odisha is not the only state of India. Around 100 reputed companies including Jindal, IMFA, JSW, Tata Steel, and Adani have set up their stalls at the event. Delegates have come from different countries including Belgium, France, Japan, China and UK to participate in the summit.
