Along with this, activists also sought for an impartial investigation in this matter and strict steps against the wrongdoers. The activists gheraoed the Chief District Medical Officer’s (CDMO) office.

By pointing at the irresponsible act of the district administration in this matter, the activists also said that chief minister Naveen Patnaik should apologize to the man.

A memorandum regarding this, addressed to the Governor will be submitted by the activists.

As per the inquiry report submitted to the Governor by Brajakishore Brahma of Kalahandi CDMO, the body had been taken by the man from the hospital without informing to the hospital staff as he presumed that his wife was dead.

Dana, accompanied by his 12 year -old daughter, had taken all pains of carrying his spouse’s corpse on his shoulders for about 10 kms as he was not provided with a mortuary van or an ambulance from the hospital.
