Jajpur, Sept 7: Yesterday a man named Gajendra Samal aged 58 drowned to death in a pond in Jajpur district of Odisha.
The victim belonged to the Naurpur village under Korai block in the district. It’s stated that the villagers had noticed a person was drowning in Chandan water body at about 10 am on Tuesday morning and contacted the nearest fire office.
Fire brigades rushed to the spot and recovered the body from the pond. Later, police arrived at the area and sent the body for post-mortem to Danagadi Community Health Centre. Investigation will be done into this mishap after the incident is registered at the police station as an unnatural death case.
