Maoists torch five vehicles used for construction work in Kalahandi District

Bhubaneswar: May 15: Maoists reportedly torched three tractors, two JCBs and some road construction machines opposing the construction of road at Nuamunda village under Rampur police limit of Odisha’s Kalahandi district late on Tuesday night.

The incident occurred at Nuamunda village where the construction work on a road between Urladani and Lahadi was going on under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

Search operation has been launched in the nearby forests to nab the Maoists.

It is to be noted, this is the second violent act by the Maoists in the tribal dominated Kalahandi district of Odisha. On May 12, Maoists had blown up an under construction CRPF camp at Trilochanpur under Lanjigarh Block.
