Bhubaneswar, Apr 8: Yesterday raids were conducted at the offices of the Odisha State Co-operative Marketing Federation Limited (MARKFED) situated at Kalpana Square here and at Jaleswar in Balasore on charges of alleged irregularities by the State Vigilance. At the time of the raid, the Vigilance scrutinized the registers of the godown, stock and sale details and those were found to have discrepancies. The details showed that the capacity f the godown is to accommodate 250 metric tonne fertiliser, but the records showed that currently 648 metric tonne of fertiliser is stocked in the godown. The fertiliser has been placed outside of the godown for inspection by the vigilance team. Sources state such irregularities cannot have been taken place without the involvement of senior officials. The Anti-sleuths also conducted raids at Regulated Market Committee (RMC) godowns at Attabira and Sambalpur and also at the Nayagarh branch of MARKFED on Thursday. As a police case had been earlier registered against the godown, vigilance left the case.
