Their demand was a hike in the price of milk making it Rs 30 per /litre . They also demanded the cattle food should be provided to them at Rs 18/kg. Other demands were that milk to be included in the mid-day meal scheme and loan to be given at one per cent interest rate. Hundreds of farmers of Odisha Milk Farmers’ Association staged a unique way of protest by distributing liquid commodity to some poor people. They also were annoyed on the fact that the Odisha Assembly has recently moved resolution over paddy MSP but it did not take into consideration the milkmen. The farmers warned that if the government will not be meeting their demands, they would continue the protest.
