Model code of conduct for poll; congress withdraws BDO offices gherao programme

Bhubaneswar, Dec 30: Congress has cancelled its plan regarding the gherao of block offices on Friday, Keeping in mind the model of code of conduct issued by SEC for upcoming Panchyat poll. This was informed by Prasad Harichandan, President of Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC).
Demanding CBI probe into the controversial Rishi murder case and resignation of Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena in alleged links in the viral sex video, memorandums, addressing Governor SC Jamir will be submitted by the block Congress presidents to the block development officers, informed Harichandan.
According to Section five of chapter-II of the model code of conduct imposed by the SEC,  burning of effigies of Political party leaders is strictly prohibited. It also denies any demonstration in front of the Government offices or the residence of any government individual.
