MoU signed between IOCL and FISHFED; fishermen to get subsidized diesel

Bhubaneswar, Dec 22: Benefiting more than 70,000 fishermen of the state, Odisha government has taken a new initiative to provide subsidized diesel for fishing trawls and boats.

A MoU has been signed between IOCL and FISHFED of Odisha Fisheries department in the presence of Pradeep Maharathy, Agriculture Minister, regarding the same. 50 paisa subsidy on a liter of diesel will be provided to the fishermen. The MoU states that there will be IOCL’s depots will be at 13 fishing jetties named Balugaon, Bahabalpur, Kharinasi, Chudamani, Talachua, Nairi, Sonepur, Astaranga, Palura, Sorana, Bhushandpur, Panchubisa and Chandrabhaga.
