Jeypore, May 22: Gearing up the investigation process into the alleged loan scam at the Koraput Central Co-operative Bank, yesterday the officials of the Jeypore Vigilance interrogated three bank staff of the Malkangiri branch. The three staff have been rusticated on the basis of the findings of the department and the vigilance that loans have been sanctioned on different occasions in the name of fake farmers in MV-17 area in Malkangiri. The complainant and Koya Samaj leader Sarat Chandra Buruda is disappointed with the the pace of the Vigilance’s investigation and the government action taken after the loan scam came to fore. He said that due to political links of the bank staff and management, the vigilance probe is not making any headway. Buruda further threatened of having agitation everyday till the government takes some necessary action. He also claimed that there are other multi-crore loan scams occurring at the bank in Kalimela, Shikapali and Padia of Malkangiri and has demanded a probe into it.
