Bhubaneswar: August 20: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched the distribution of smart health cards under the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) in Malkangiri district.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has handed over the first smart health card to Shukri Dhangda Majhi, a woman from Bonda Tribe.
CM Naveen announces 10 lakh treatment cost per annum
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister said, ‘In 2018, Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme was going on for Malkangiri District and I had attended that programme from Lok Seba Bhawan. One girl proposed me to enhance treatment cost for mothers. I appreciated her courage and suggestion. She was Mamata Padiami of Malkangiri. I have decided to enhance it to 10 lakhs’.
With new addition, families can avail treatment costs up to Rs 5 lakh per annum, for women members of the family, it is up to Rs 10 lakh.
On the occasion Patnaik said, “For me, every life is precious. I wish everyone to be healthy. Money should never be a barrier for treatment. Everyone should remain healthy and work for the betterment of their families.”
Now, each family can avail treatment cost up to ₹5 lakh per annum while women members can avail this benefit up to ₹10 lakh every year.
The health scheme is meant for 3.5 crore people in 96 families.
