Attack At New Zealand Mall: Attacker Inspired By ISIS Terrorist Org

On Friday, an attacker opened fire with a Knife at the Countdown supermarket in New Zealand’s Auckland, injuring six people. The police killed the attacker on the spot. New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern called the incident a terrorist attack in the town of New Lin. Refusing the earlier reports of police officials stating it a random attack, she said the attacker was inspired by the terrorist organization ISIS.

“An incident like such, filled with hatred, shouldn’t have happened. The Attacker was a Sri Lankan national, who had come to NZ in 2011. The attacker who started stabbing at around 2.40 pm was shot by the police”, said PM Ardern.

In this New Zealand attack, 6 New Zealanders were injured of which 3 are in critical condition. The injured were immediately taken the nearby hospital.

It is states that, the attacker was being monitored from 2016. But the authorities without any lack of evidence were unable to put him behind bars. His past activities had not even  reached such a level that he should be kept behind bars, said the PM Ardern.
