Guwahati, Nov 21: Newspapers and news agencies employees will demand the formation of a new wageboard for journalists and non-journalists following submission of the 7th Pay Commission recommendations.
General Secretary of Confederation of Newspapers and News Agencies Employees Organisations MS Yadav has said here that the confederation will put forward its demand for formation of the next wage board soon before the Indian government.
Yadav regretted that many media houses are yet to revise wages for journalists and non-journalists as per the recommendations of the Justice Majithia Wage Board, implementation of which was directed by Supreme Court in February last year.
Notably, the Justice(Retd) A K Mathur Commission submitted the 7th Pay Commission recommendation to the Centre on Thursday wherein it has proposed a 23.55 per cent hike in the emoluments of its employees.
