According to government sources, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted raids on the offices of the Popular Front of India (PFI) in several states on Thursday morning.

The anti-terror agency conducted raids in ten states, including Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, as part of a broad campaign against PFI.

The nationwide raids resulted in the arrest of more than 100 senior PFI officials and leaders. In a coordinated effort, the NIA, Enforcement Directorate (ED), and state police carried out the raids.

Kerala had the most arrests (22), followed by Maharashtra and Karnataka with 20 each, then Andhra Pradesh with 5, Assam with 9, Delhi with 3, Madhya Pradesh with 4, Puducherry with 3, Tamil Nadu with 10, Uttar Pradesh with 8, and Rajasthan with 2.

Raids and searches are being conducted against people who are allegedly funding terrorism and radicalizing people to join extremist groups.
