Announcing the Covid-19 guidelines for the month of October, Special Relief Commissioner Pradeep Jena earlier said, “With a view to protecting the health of the public and preventing large gatherings during the festivities, night-curfew shall be imposed from 8 pm to 5 am from October 11 to October 20 in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. Night curfew will continue in all other urban areas as usual from 10 pm to 5 am.”
In fact, Puja begins from October 11 with Sasthi puja, followed by Laxmi Pnight curfew shall be imposed from 8 pm to 5 am from October 11 to October 20 in Bhubaneswar and Cuttack’.uja. These festivals are celebrated with pomp and grandeur in both cities. There are possibilities of gatherings in parts of cities as usually seen during Durga Puja of yester years.
So, Government has decided to impose night curfew.
Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi on Saturday warned of stern action against any kind of violations during the enforcement of night curfew restrictions in the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar from October 11 (Monday).
He said, Police shall take adequate measures to ensure that, the night-curfew restrictions are strictly followed in twin cities.
