Orissa HC lawyers continue protest over judges' appointment

Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: Taking an action against declaring Puri Jagannath temple’s servitor named Kasinath Khuntia as absconder and also on the issue of non – bailable warrant by the police, the Orissa High Court issued an interim stay order on that. Without any FIR and complaint being filed, the police had declared Khuntia as absconder and issued non-bailable warrant against him, said Subrat Nayak, petitioner counsel. Even though no such order has been given by the court, police had pasted photos of Khuntia stating him as absconder, he further stated.

So, after this was taken to the higher level, the High Court issued the interim stay order. No action will be taken by the police till any further orders, which will be decided after the Durga Puja Vacation, Nayak informed. Pointing about the un-justification of police, Nayak said that, issuing of non – bailable warrant against him without any complaint is baseless.
