Bhubaneswar, Aug 5: In the Co-ordination cum Empowered Committee (CCEC) meeting held today, the Director of Mines Deepak Kumar Mohanty said that very soon nine mines of the State would be auctioned which include two chromite mines and seven other manganese mines.
On June 30, the Centre had asked Odisha Government to auction some mining blocks as soon as possible. The Secretary of Ministry of Mines Balvinder Kumar said that the conversion of mining blocks from G-3 to G-2 level of exploration has led to the delay.
However, the State Chief Secretary had assured that the problem would be solved within a month.
Notably, only one mining block has been put to auction in the State, till now.
