No importance of Special Category Status to Odisha: External Affairs Minister VK Singh

Bhubaneswar, June 13: The Minister of State for External Affairs, Shri VK Singh, who is on a visit to the state for the Modi fest that is being celebrated across the country for the completion of three years of the BJP government in the centre, has today said in a press conference that the special category status to Odisha is not necessary as it is not important.

Addressing the press meet, Singh stated that the nations growth is interdependent with the state’s progress, however, Odisha has not registered development as desired.

On the other hand, Singh also informed that a total of 800 passport offices will be opened in the country soon. However, 150 among them will be set up in the first phase. Soon passport offices will be set up in every district, added Singh.

He also pointed out the remarks of ‘Sadak Ka Gunda’, that was given by some congress leader to the Chief of Army General Bipin Rawat and sought apology from them.
