Bhubaneswar, Jan 30: Showing no mercy towards the inefficient and corrupted, the State Government has dismissed 9 senior officials from various Departments of mines, engineer, forest and labour, under graft charges and dereliction/slacking off services.

The involving officials include, Madan Mohan Biswal, Deputy Director of Mines department, who has been given compulsory early retirement. About 9 vigilance cases have been lodged against Mr. Biswal, said sources.

Among others who were sacked are Ramesh Chandra Mahalik, a group-A Officer in Mines; Forest Ranger Office Prasant Kumar Nayak (Allegedly Found with funds accumulating to 1.4Cr from unidentified source of income); Assistant Engineer, Narayan Pradhan (Allegedly found with Rs 2.20 Cr of Unaccounted Property along with over 30 pieces of Land across various districts in Odisha).

The state also dismissed Assistant Conservator Forest, Lakshman Kumar Pradhan with two vigilance cases booked on his name, while, Forest Range Officer, Bharat Kumar Ghadei has been charged/booked under three corruption cases and 1 vigilance case registered against Labour Officer, Pradeep Kumar Bhoi.

Namaita Das, Divisional Labour Commissioner and Sharat kumar Chodhary, Joint Labour Commissioner, were also forced to retire from their respective services due to inefficiency in service.
