Cuttack: May 09:  The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has not given any permission for the construction of the Srimandir Corridor Project. This has been cleared by ASI today before the Orissa High Court. The affidavit was filed in the High Court today by the ASI.

The petitioners appealed to the High Court to issue a stay order on the construction work. The High Court, however, did not issue a stay order. The government has argued that all of this is within the Supreme Court’s guidelines.

The ASI, on the other hand, did not provide any details of the damage caused by the ongoing construction work near the temple. The High Court has therefore again asked the ASI to compile and submit a detailed report. The court directed that the report specifically state what was damaged by the ongoing construction work. The court also said that the next hearing in the case would be held on June 20.
