Bhubaneswar: May 20: State Government of Odisha decided not to go for power cut till June 30. This has been decided by Government, because Monsoon may be delayed this time as forecast by Indian Meteorological Department (IMD).

Energy Minister of Odisha Pranab Prakash Das informed the Media after a high level meeting, ‘in the current scenario, Odisha needs 4100 MW in peak hour as against 3300-4000 MW production per day. To manage it, we are drawing 50-60 MW power from Punjab through the power banking mode’.

The water level at various reservoirs is sufficient to meet the requirements for the next 15 days, Minister said.
