Bhubaneswar : May 17: NTPC has taken up the electrical restoration works of LT network in 4 blocks of Puri districts, namely, Nimapada, Puri Sadar , Gop and Satyabadi. The deployment of resources as well as the deployment of NTPC executives and supervisory staffs for the timely execution of restoration of the electrical works have also begun. This has been initiated after A.K.Bhalla, Secretary (Power), GOI and Gurdeep Singh, CMD, NTPC made a visit to Bhubaneswar and Puri to assess the impact of cyclone “Fani” on electrical installations in Odissa, reviewed the progress of restoration and held meeting with Chief Minister, Govt. of Odisha,Chief Secretary, Govt. of Odisha regarding restoration of electricity networks in affected locations.
Govt. of Odissa has requested NTPC to take up work at 4 blocks in Puri which are identified viz. Nimapada, Puri Sadar , Gop and Satyabadi for LT network restoration work.
Meanwhile , NTPC has deployed till date 1000 trained electrical manpower for restoration of electricity works in cyclone affected areas such as Puri, Khorda,Jagatsignhpur and Kendrapara.
So far nearly 7000 persons have been benefited by NTPC’s Mobile Medical Cyclone Relief Camps organised in the villages and at panchayat level in Puri District.The local residents have benefited hugely from these camps.
Seven DG sets ( five 125 kwa and two 250 Kwa) have been provided. Additional 8 small DG sets for site work (2×7 kva, 6 x 5 kva) and 4 nos. Tractors, 4 nos Auger machines have also been provided. Lighting arrangements for late evening work has been made. Electrical equipment such as Poles, Weasel Conductor, Rabit Conductor, Pin Insulators, Disc Insulators, V- Cross Arm , AB Switches , HG Fuse sets etc available with NTPC for installation in various locations for implementation of DDUGJY are being readily handed over to CESU for speedy restoration works.
