An Odia woman, a resident of Bharatpur, age 26, was reportedly raped and murdered in Hyderabad. She had been living there with her husband and child for six months. While her husband was employed at a private company, she was working at an educational institution.
Sources said the husband had travelled to Odisha for a passport update and received information that his wife was unwell. He immediately returned to Hyderabad and discovered that his wife had died. Her body was found hanging. The husband alleged that his wife was murdered after being sexually assaulted, and he requested the Odisha Government to assist him in bringing his wife’s body back to his home state. He also asked the Odisha Government to cooperate in identifying and apprehending the person responsible for her rape and murder.
Upon receiving information from neighbours, the Hyderabad police reached the scene and initiated an investigation.
