Odisha government granted in-principle approval for the establishment of ten industrial projects with a combined investment of Rs 1,923.60 crores.
The approval was granted at a meeting of the State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) presided over by Chief Secretary SC Mohapatra.
Hemant Sharma, the secretary of the state’s industry department, stated that the committee’s approval of ten projects totaling Rs 1,923.60 would provide employment opportunities for over 5,170 people.
According to him, the meeting’s approved projects span diverse industries, including power and renewable energy, chemicals, IT & ESDM, food processing, oil & gas, metal downstream, technical textiles, tourism, and infrastructure.
The approved projects will be established throughout Odisha, including four in the Khurda district and one each in Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Balasore, Keonjhar, and Angul.
A proposal of Luminous Power Technologies Private Limited to set up a manufacturing unit of new technology eco-friendly Batteries Fuel Cell, Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC batteries), and Power storage and Solar batteries in the Angul Aluminium Park got the approval. The project will be set up at an investment of Rs 481.96 crore generating employment for over 1,156 people in the state.
The committee approved Silox India Private Limited’s proposal to establish a chemical manufacturing facility in the Paradeep Industrial Area. The unit is anticipated to produce 25,000 MTPA of Sodium Formaldehyde Sulphoxylate, 2,000 MTPA of Zinc Formaldehyde Sulphoxylate, and 15,000 MTP of Cobalt, Nickel, Magnesium, Lithium, and Zinc Metal Salts.
The unit is being set up with an investment of Rs 500 crore and is expected to generate employment opportunities for over 800 people in the state.
Similarly, the committee approved Happiest Minds Technologies Limited’s Rs 265.60 crore investment in establishing a software development centre offering IT services at O-Hub in Info-valley SEZ, Bhubaneswar.
In the Hospitality sector, the committee approved MGM Resorts Pvt Ltd’s 5-star Hotel Hyatt Regency with an investment of Rs 180 crore. The project will come up in the New Marine Drive Road, Puri.
The committee also approved Oil India Limited’s oil and gas exploration units in Astaranga, Puri, and Patkura, Kendrapada, each with an installed capacity of 10KLPD. OIL India will invest more than Rs 108 crore in the state, creating employment opportunities for more than 115 individuals in these areas.
In the agro and food processing sector, the committee approved an investment of Rs 150 crore for an aqua feed manufacturing facility with an annual capacity of 1.8 million MT proposed by IFB Agro Industries Limited.
The project will be established in the Somanathpur Industrial Estate in Balasore and is anticipated to generate over 270 jobs.
Offshore Infrastructures Limited shall go for a Fabrication unit in Sainkul IE, Keonjhar, to produce 5,00,000 Inch Dia piping spools & 25,000 MT Industrial structures per annum. The Project cost will be Rs.54 Crores and it will create employment opportunities for 140 people.
M/s Mehan Industries Pvt. Ltd. shall invest Rs.50.05 Cr. for establishing a Unit at Khurda to produce EPF foam, bonded foam, latex foam, memory foam, PU foam. This will generate employment for 506 people.
M/s SGP Trading India Pvt Ltd shall go for a Logistics Park including assembling and recycling unit at Khurda with an investment of Rs.90 Crore, which will generate employment opportunities for 200 people.
A Warehousing and Logistic Park shall be established by M/s Sri Jaybalajee Agro products Pvt Ltd with an investment of Rs. 54 Cr. at Khurda.
