New Delhi, Nov 22: Odisha on the opening day of Ranjhi Trophy Group B match are at stumps with 42/2, after dismissing Karnataka just for 179 in 66.2 overs at the Airforce Complex Ground, Palam, New Delhi.
Bowlers Basant Mohanty and Biplab Samantray gave a great innings by taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively. Suryakant Pradhan, Alok Mangaraj and Dhiraj Singh shared one-one each.
Karnataka’s first bone fell off when opener Mayank Agarwal ran himself out, when the score was 6. Five players reached the double digit score but their backbone fell off when wicket keeper-batsman CM Gautam was caught by Mohanty, scoring 54 runs from 84 balls
Odisha openers Sandeep Pattanaik and Ranjit Singh began the innings cautiously but, Sandeep was bowled out for 18. At the end of the day Odisha at stumps were 42/2 with Govinda Poddar (16) and Dhiraj Singh (0) on crease.
