Bhubaneswar: Sep 5: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has started the process of holding organisational elections in Odisha unit with a day-long workshop of party leaders on Thursday.
Union Ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Pratap Sarangi, BJP national vice-president Baijayant Panda and several senior leaders including MPs and MLAs attended the workshop.
The party’s state functionaries, district presidents, Zilla Parishad presidents and vice-presidents, and newly-elected district election officers also attended the workshop.
“The election process will begin from September 14, where the party will elect booth president and booth committee members. Elections for booth president and members will be from September 14 to 22,” informed party’s assistant election officer and spokesperson Sudipta Ray.
He said Mandal-level elections would take place from September 22 to 31.
While district-level office-bearers would be elected in November, the state-level office bearers and state president would be elected in December, said Ray.
He said as many as 300 leaders have been engaged for smooth management of organisational elections.(IANS)
