Odisha Chief Minister flagged off the Biju Patnaik Himalayan expedition

Bhubaneswar: September 12: Chief Minister of Odisha Naveen Patnaik flagged off the second Biju Patnaik Himalayan expedition today. Fifteen mountaineers led by the Padmashree Bachendri Pal, Premlata Agarwal, mountaineer Jogabyasa Bhoi and Rajendra Singh Pal will scale Mt Rudugaira (19,000 ft), a peak situated in Gangotri glacier of Uttarakhand between 16 September and 28 Septmber. This expedition is organised to instil values of adventure, team spirit and leadership among youths.

State’s Sports and Youth Services department will spend Rs 20 lakh for the Expedition Programme. Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) which is the collaborative partner will provide all the necessary technical support.
