Bhubaneswar: August 15: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik unfurled the National Flag at Exhibition Ground here and paid rich tribute to the freedom fighters who have sacrificed their lives in freedom movements.
In his address on the occasion of 74th Independence Day, he paid tributes to the COVID Warriors and said, ‘I pay tributes to the Corona Warriors of the State who are playing a crucial role in the fight’.
He further said, “Since last 5 months we have been fighting against COVID-19. It is a big challenge not only to us, but our Country and the whole mankind. It has caused heavy impact on our Economy & Society, which has to be dealt by us bravely and collectively’.
Speaking on the fight against COVID-19, Chief Minister said, Odisha Government has set up dedicated COVID Hospitals to give treatment to the Patients. Government has ensured that no patient is deprived of treatment because of financial problem.
He said, we have been taking various steps to boost economic activity and also, creating opportunity for Employment Generation.
For the first time, the flag hoisting ceremony was held without Public.
