Bhubaneswar: December 03: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today felicitated participants from Odisha for their excellent performance at the National level event ‘Hausla-2018’ at State Secretariat here. Odiya participants under 18 years’ old children from Odisha’s Child Care Institutions participated in football, chess, athletics, drawing, debate and model carving competitions and became the champion State by bagging the highest amount of 21 medals.
Odisha became champion in the country among the 29 states while Chattisgarh is the runners up.
Besides felicitating the children with Prize Money, Chief Minister also accorded them with an instant gift of witnessing the on-going Men’s Hockey World Cup match at Kalinga Stadium.
Addressing the special programme held at State Secretariat, Chief Minister said, ‘You are the best team in the country and the amount of medals you have won is truly praiseworthy.’
Chief Minister announced that,each of the gold winners will be awarded with prize money of Rs 50,000, each silver winner Rs 30,000 and each bronze winner Rs 20,000. I
Notably, the national level ‘Hausla 2018’ was held at New Delhi from November 26 to 29. It is a Festival for Children residing in Child Care Institutions. Accordingly, 37 under 18 years old children from Odisha’s Child Care Institutions participated in football, chess, athletics, drawing, debate and model carving competitions and became the champion State by bagging the highest amount of 21 medals.
