Puri: November 15: Odisha Government started ‘Jaga Mission’ for Urban Slum Dwellers residing in Municipal Corporation and NAC areas of the State. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today distributed land rights to the landless slum dwellers of eight districts at a state level programme held at Talabania of Puri.
Launching ‘Jaga Mission’, Chief Minister said, ‘State Government has launched the Programme with an objective to bring smiles on the faces of slum dwellers’.
‘Jaga Mission’ Programme aims to provide land rights to around 18 lakh landless urban slum dwellers residing in all Municipal Corporations and NACs in the State. Government of Odisha has allocated Rs.100 crore for the Programme during the 2018-19 financial year.
Under the Programme, eligible beneficiaries will also avail facilities like housing, drinking water, lights and others.
Urban Minister Niranjan Pujari, Revenue Minister Maheswar Mohanty, Pan Pachayatraj Minister Pradeep Maharathy and Member of Parliament Pinaki Mishra were present in the Programme.
