Sambalpur: April 28: Forest officials rescued a wild elephant and her calf from a ditch in Jujumara area under Hatibari block of Sambalpur today.
As reported, the elephant calf and the mother jumbo sleeped into the ditch and were struggling to come out of it.
The locals spotted the elephants in ditch and informed the forest officials. Officials rushed to the spot and successfully rescued the animals after hours’ long operation.
While going back to forest, the elephants damaged two motorcycles and five cycles.
