Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: The 71st Foundation Day of Odisha Postal Circle was celebrated in the Office of the Chief Postmaster General, Odisha Circle, Bhubaneswar on Nov 20. Dr. Santosh Kumar Kamila, Chief Postmaster General presided over the function. Senior retired officers of the department Shri. B. K Mohanty, Major. Gen. B. P Das, A VSM and Brig. G. Bhuyan were felicitated on this occasion. All officers and staff members were also present there.
Shri Md. Asif Zake, Asst. Director (Welfare) and convener of the function highlighted about the creation of Odisha Postal Circle long back in the year 1946 due to the sincere efforts of late N. C. OM, the then Addl. Postmaster General. The Chief Postmaster General in his address assured development of Odisha Postal Circle and welfare of the staff. He expected that the Circle will grow up to expectations of the public to face the new challenges before us with hard work and discipline. He also praised Odisha Postal Circle or its culture and heritage.
He in his address spoke about the role of India Post in changing scenario and expressed our feeling in providing better services to the public in spite of various difficulties compared to others.
