Bhubaneswar, Nov 22: Demanding regularization in Job, kin of deceased family members who were under service of School and Mass Education department has staged demonstration in front of the residence of Debi Prasad Mishra, School and Mass Education Minister and while doing that, some also tried for self-immolation. However police detained 20 person during the incident.
The demonstrator had alleged that inspite of the government’s rule they were given jobs on contractual basis.
It may be noted that, as per the rules of the Orissa Civil Service Rehabilitation Scheme 1990, one of the family members of any state government employee possessing similar educational qualification as that of the employee would get government job if the employee dies during the time period of his service.
Basing on that, 595 persons’ name had been sent by the department for the approval and appointment of these 595 persons on regular basis in Group C and Group D post, in the year 2013.
But instead of appointing regular jobs they were appointed on contractual basis.
