Odisha records highest single-day spike of 1602 new COVID-19 cases and 10 deaths

Odisha reports 170 Covid-19 New Cases; No cases in10 Districts

Bhubaneswar: August 1: Odisha registered highest single day spike of 1602 COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours. Earlier on 23rd July, Odisha had recorded highest single-day spike of 1594 cases. Of this, 993 cases are Quarantine Cases and rest 609 Local Contact Cases.Total cases in Odisha rose to 33,479.

More than 50 percent cases of today’s total 1602 have been reported from Ganjam, Khurda, Rayagada & Gajapati District. Ganjam recorded 308 cases, Khurda 285 cases, Rayagada 164 cases and Gajapati 108 cases.

Also, Sundergarh reported 62 cases, Cuttack 54 cases, Puri 50 Cases, Dhenkanal 49 cases, Koraput 46 cases, Kandhamal 45 cases, Jajpur 44 cases, Mayurbhanj & Sambalpur 39 cases each, Balangir 38 cases, Nayagarh 33 cases, Keonjhar 31 cases, Malkangiri & Kalahandi 30 cases each, Balasore 29 cases, Bhadrak 20 cases, Jagatsinghpur 19 cases, Angul & Kendrapara 15 cases each, Bargarh 13 cases, Nabarangpur & Boudh 9 cases each, Jharsuguda 7 cases, Sonepur 6 cases and Nuapada 5 cases.

Also, 10 more deaths have been recorded in Odisha, taking the total death toll of the State to 187. Out of 10 deaths, 5 are from Ganjam District, 3 from Khurda District (2 from Bhubaneswar) and one each from Sundergarh & Gajapati District.
