Bhubaneswar: July 30: Since last few days, Odisha was reporting sixteen hundred plus cases in a day, but today it has reported 1558 fresh cases. Out of which, 904 people were in quarantine and rest 654 are local contact cases.
Total number of positive cases in the State since the beginning of the pandemic increased to 9,75,690 with today’s 1558.
Out of that, 9,53,088 people have already recovered from the disease with 2039 cases recovered yesterday.
Health & Family Welfare Department informed about 66 new deaths due to Covid. As said by the department, the list does not reflect deaths occurring on a particular day. It gives details of past deaths for which the death audit process has been duly completed and the cause of death has been identified as due to Covid-19.
With this, total death toll increased to 5834.
Active cases number is also declining but slowly. Now, 16,715 people are under treatment.
In last 24 hours, 75,868 swab tests have been done and the daily positive rate remains at 2.05 today.
Khurda & Cuttack District reported 479 and 241 cases respectively. Rest 28 districts registered below 100 cases each.
