Bhubaneswar: August 15: Odisha reported 2,496 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours, which is in fact the highest single day spike in the State. Now, total cases registered so far in Odisha increased to 57,126.
As per the information provided in H & Family Welfare Department’s tweet, out of 2,496 cases, 1,591 persons were in Quarantine and rest 905 are Local Contact Cases.
Khurda reported highest cases today i.e. 378, followed by Ganjam 327 cases, Balasore 165 cases, Sundergarh 156 cases, Rayagada 146 cases, Koraput 133 cases, Cuttack 128 cases, Boudh 115 cases, Bhadrak 102 cases, Kandhamal 98 cases, Puri 93 cases, Balangir 92 cases, Sambalpur 81 cases, Malkangiri 73 cases, Dhenkanal 69 cases, Gajapati 68 cases, Kenjhar 51 cases, Kalahandi 42 cases, Bargarh 36 cases, Mayurbhanj 23 cases, Sonepur 20 cases, Jharsuguda 19 cases, Nuapada 16 cases, Jagatsinghpur 14 cases, Keonjhar 13 cases, Angul 12 cases, Jajpur & Nabarangpur 11 cases each and Nayagarh 4 cases.
So far, 39,206 patients recovered from the disease and 17,534 patients are under treatment.
Today, Odisha recorded 9 deaths due to COVID-19 and with this, death toll in the State reached 333.
