Odisha Reports Two Omicron Cases

Odisha reported two Omicron cases, informed informed Institute of Life Sciences (ILS), Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.

Following Genome Sequencing, Omicron variant of Covid-19, was found in two persons in Odisha. Both are male and aged 41 and 43 years respectively. One of them, has returned from Nigeria and other one from Qatar.

One of them belongs to Jagatsingpur district and another is a resident of Khordha district. Official Sources said, One of them is asymptomatic. The other person has symptoms like cough. Both are in isolation and their condition is stable.’

Sources said, 7 foreign returnees had tested positive for COVID-19 in the State. Of which, 2 persons were detected with Omicron variant. Rest are not.
