The Odisha government intends to distribute notebooks to students across the state to bridge the communication gap between teachers and students’ parents/guardians.
Samir Ranjan Dash, Minister of School and Mass Education, announced this on Saturday.
The notebook will provide guardians with information about their children’s academic activities and homework. Aside from academic activities, the notebook will include information about holidays, school programs, emergency phone numbers, and teacher information.

Besides, teachers will record their observations about students in a notebook, and parents will monitor their children’s progress.
While speaking to Media, Minister said, “We are planning to introduce notebooks for students in government schools like private schools. Students’ homework, school activities, and other information will be kept in the notebooks.’
Notably, Odisha has prioritized education in its annual budget, which was presented on Friday. When compared to the previous budget, the budgetary allocation for education and skill development increased by 10% to Rs. 30,030 crores for 2023-24.
