Odisha Government will launch a mega vaccination campaign across the State from November 2 to expedite the inoculation drive.
Healthcare workers will go for door-to-door vaccination of people eligible for a second dose and also, people who are yet to take first dose.
ASHA, Anganwadi and ANM workers and members of PRI, SHG groups and NGOs shall go to each household and prepare a list. Also, they will make arrangements for the people to take vaccine at nearest vaccination centres.
Health and Family Welfare Director Bijay Panigrahi said, “We have decided to achieve the target of 100 per cent inoculation of the first dose and due second dose by the end of December.”
As informed by Health & Family Welfare Department, as of 31st October, 3,72,63,967 doses have been administered to the people. Of which, 2,57,17,076 beneficiaries have received the first dose which accounts for 79 per cent of the total adult population and 1,15,46,891 have been administered the second dose which accounts for 35 per cent, informed Sri Panigrahi.
