Odisha Unlock Guidelines; Maximum 250 attendees at Marriages, Funerals

Odisha government on Tuesday announced the Covid unlock guidelines for the Month of September’2021.

Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Jena informed that, State government has decided to relax restrictions to support the livelihood of people. As per the decision, the weekend shutdown which was enforced in Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Puri has been lifted.

An official Order regarding this said, there will be graded unlocking throughout the State with effect from 6 am of 1st September of 2021 till 6 am of 1st October’2021. Night Curfew shall be imposed in all urban areas of the State from 10 pm to 5 am everyday.

The Order informed, there will be no shut down across the State.

The order said,  marriages, thread Ceremony/Bratopanayan, funerals, last rites and related gatherings with approval from local authorities shall be allowed with a ceiling of 250 persons (for the entire event) including hosts, guests, priests and catering and other support staff with adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols.

The order further added, under no circumstances, the number of participants shall exceed the ceiling of entire event. In closed spaces subject to above ceilings such number of persons allowed as would be feasible to follow covid protocols.

Marriage Processions shall be allowed with due prior written approval from competent authorities  marriage procession with maximum 50 participants subject to the ceiling 50 participants including Bridegroom, Priest, Friends, Relatives, Guests, Member of Band Party, light & sound systems etc. The number of persons in marriage procession shall be count towards the above said ceilings of 250 persons.
