Odisha Vigilance to use Social Media Platforms to Create Anti-Corruption Awareness

Vigilance Awareness Week, began from today and will conclude on 1st November’ 2021. This year, India is observing the Week, with the theme “Independent India @ 75 : Self Reliance with Integrity”.

The observance of Vigilance Awareness Week has commenced today at 11.00 AM with taking of integrity pledge by all public servants working in the offices of Government and public sector undertakings throughout the State.

At the Vigilance Directorate, Cuttack,  Y.K. Jethwa, IPS, Director, Vigilance, administered the integrity pledge to Vigilance officers and employees. While administering integrity pledge, Jethwa advised all the officers and employees of the Directorate and Cell Division to rededicate themselves to the highest standards of probity and integrity and perform all tasks in an honest and transparent manner for a self reliant Odisha.

Jethwa also appealed to all to join hands with Odisha Vigilance in the fight against corruption in public life.

The State Vigilance is coordinating observance of Vigilance Awareness Week all over the State in a befitting manner.

As per guidelines of Central Vigilance Commission, this year all organisations are focusing on internal housekeeping activities which are being taken up in a campaign mode as part of observance of Vigilance Awareness Week.

During the course of the Awareness Week, Odisha Vigilance has planned extensive use of social media platforms, WhatsApp, email electronic and print media for creating anti-corruption awareness among the public.

During the week, bulk SMS featuring the Vigilance toll free number 1064 will be sent to lakhs of mobile users in the State for wide circulation, with a view to enhance the use of the said toll free number by the general public.

The drive for online registration of complaints relating to corruption on the Vigilance website http://odishavigilance.gov.in has further been energized.

The battle against corruption is a long drawn-out one and its success depends upon willing participation of all the stakeholders of the society.

Odisha Vigilance appeals to the people of the State to actively participate in the observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week adhering to COVID-19 guidelines and contribute to the cause of combating corruption.
