Pramod Bhagat returned to his home State Odisha.
Odisha welcome the Gold Medalist Pramod Bhagat with beats of ‘dhol’ and cheers. At his arrival in Biju Patnaik International airport, Odisha’s Sports Minister Tusharkanti Behera and Secretary R. Vineel Krishna welcomed him.
Pramod also thanked the Government and People of Odisha for giving him such a grand welcome. He said, ‘This year’s Nuakhai will be special and will be celebrated with the joy of the Gold Medal’.
The shuttler from Odisha won Gold Medal in badminton men’s singles SL3 in the recently concluded Tokyo Paralympics, 2020 beating Daniel Bethell of Great Britain.
As he said on his return to Odisha, his next target is to win another gold medal in the Paris Paralympics in 2024.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will felicitate Pramod this evening at the Kalinga Stadium. The Odisha government has already announced to honour him with cash award of Rs 6 crore and a Group-A post job to him.
