Bhubaneswar: August 28: Odisha reported 3,682 fresh COVID-19 cases in a single day. Out of that, 1441 are local contact cases and rest 2241 people were in quarantine.
According to Health & Family Welfare Department, Khurda district recorded biggest single-day spike of 775 fresh cases, followed by Rayagada (495), Cuttack (369),Mayurbhanj (272),Ganjam (174), Bargarh (152), Koraput (140), Sambalpur (128),Puri (115),Nayagarh (109), Jajpur (88), Balasore (87), Malkangiri (86), Bolangir (68), Dhenkanal (61), Keonjhar (59), Angul (56), Bhadrak (51), Gajapati (48), Jagatsinghpur & Kendrapara (44 each), Jharsuguda (43), Kalahandi (41), Nayagarh (38), Kandhamal (36), Sonepur & Sundergarh (27 each),Nuapada (23), Boudh (14) and Deogarh (12).
Total cases in Odisha increased to 94,668. Out of that, 65,323 people have recovered so far.
In last 24 hours, 8 people have succumbed to the disease, pushing the total death toll of the State to 456.
At present, 28, 836 cases are active in the State.
