Odisha’s COVID tally crosses 80,000-mark; Death toll increases to 419

Odisha reports 170 Covid-19 New Cases; No cases in10 Districts

Bhubaneswar: August 24: Odisha reported 2,949 new COVID-19 cases in last 24 hours. According to Health & Family Welfare Department’s Website, out of 2,949 cases, 1,826 people were in Quarantine and rest 1123 are Local Contact Cases.

With this, Odisha crossed 80,000-mark and increased to 81,479.

As per the report of today, Cuttack reported highest number of cases i.e. 589, followed by Khurda (474), Jajpur (215), Koraput (181),Ganjam (179), Mayurbhanj (156), Rayagada (143), Sambalpur (104), Nayagarh (93), Balasore (88),Puri (86), Sundergarh (81), Malkangiri (78), Bhadrak (66), Bargarh (62), Bolangir (57), Kendrapara (56), Jagatsinghpur (51),Kandhamal (34), Kalahandi & Keonjhar (30 each), Nawarangpur & Sonepur (26 each), Jharsuguda (20), Dhenkanal (13), Boudh & Gajapati (3 each), Deogarh & Nuapada (2 each) and Angul has registered only one case.

Also, as informed by H & FW Department, 10 people succumbed to the disease in last 24 hours and the total death toll in the State due to COVID-19 reached 419.

On the other side, 54,406 people have recovered from the disease so far. At present, 26,601 cases are active in the State.
