Bhubaneswar, Dec 17: Odisha Football player and former Indian women’s team captain Shradhanjali Samantaray has been appointed selector for the national senior women’s football team.
She will select players for the National women’s football championship to be held at five zones from December 21, sources said.
She will select players for the national team after visiting Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir, Chandigarh, Uttarakhand and Punjab, sources added.
Besides, the ace footballer will also participate in the selection of the national team during the quarter final to final round of National women’s football championship to be held at Jabalpur from January 2 to 15.
Notably, Sradhanjali has already worked as a selector for national junior and sub-junior teams.
