Bhubaneswar: October 10: Department of Sports and Youth Services and state government launched Olly, the official mascot of 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup at Puri beach yesterday. The 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup will begin on November 28 in Bhubaneswar. Olly, the mascot of 2018 Men’s Hockey World Cup, aims to raise awareness about the conservation of the Olive Ridley Turtle. ‘Olly’ represents the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles that travel thousands of miles in the ocean and arrive in millions every year on Odisha’s Rushikulya and Gahirmatha beaches for their annual nesting.
