The new variant of Corona ‘Omricron’ found in South Africa has stirred the world. Due to this variant, cases in South Africa has been growing fast.
It is being said that this new variant is even more dangerous than the Delta. Due to the threat of the variant, many countries have banned travelers from South Africa. The World Health Organization (WHO) has placed this variant in the category of ‘Variants of Concern’.
The World Health Organization (WHO) on Saturday asked countries in the Southeast Asia region to increase vigilance and strengthen public healthcare and social measures in the wake of the new form of corona virus infection being detected and increasing cases of infection in many places.
The WHO said that all precautionary measures should be taken in festivals and celebrations and visiting crowded places should be avoided. Dr. Poonam Khetrapal Singh, Regional Director of WHO for South-East Asia Region, said that we should not lose our vigil at any cost.
Two citizens who came to India from South Africa infected with Delta variant:
There was a stir at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru after two South African nationals were found infected with the corona virus. However, it is yet to be confirmed whether they are infected with new variant Omicron. Sources said, both of them are infected with Delta Variant. Now, they are in in the Quarantine Center.
In view of the seriousness of the new Kovid-19 variant ‘Omicron’, several countries like America, Brazil, Canada, European Union, Japan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bahrain have imposed travelers coming from African countries and Hong Kong.
A few days after it surfaced in South Africa, the new Kovid variant has reached many countries of Europe. These include Belgium, Botswana, Hong Kong, Britain, Israel, Czech Republic, Italy, Germany, Netherlands.
